Mighty Springfield,

I encourage you all to attend our first meeting of the year, Thursday at 8:00 pm in the Simmons Piano Lounge!

Come, bring a friend, bring two friends, bring a skateboard, bring a mentor, bring ideas, bring hope, bring inspiration, but most importantly, bring your passion: the passion that helped us raise over $130,000 last year For The Kids, the passion with which we will create Springfield's most incredible year yet.

Springfielders, recruitment is upon us! Hopefully you have seen our AWESOME 2008 recruitment flyers around campus--be on the lookout for all 17 (yes, 17!).

And don't forget that we're playing WIFFLEBALL tomorrow, Tuesday, 8/26 at 6pm in the Simmons Courtyard. Come on out to meet some new members, and play the best game in the world (and we can also toss around a football and frisbee, and eat some of Erin's delicious cookies!)

Our first meeting is Thursday, 8/28 in the Simmons Piano Lounge at 8pm. As Michael Phelps says, "BE THERE!" And bring a friend! Springfield is going to ROCK this year, and we can't do it without you!

Captain positions for THON 2009 committees are available, and are due on Friday. If you would like to apply for a captain position, visit http://ext.think.psu.edu/applications/captain.php.

In the past, Springfielders have held many captain positions and still remained highly involved in Springfield. Being a captain, or simply joining a committee, is a terrific way to become more involved in THON.
