I hope you all are making through the last few days of your semester with as much of your sanity as possible, and are looking forward to all of the awesome Springfield events coming up in the next few months!
- Last weekend, December 4th to the 6th, was our second canning weekend! We had about 75 canners brave the freezing cold weather, and we raised TONS of money, FTK! Come out to our meeting Sunday night (December 13th) at 8 p.m. for a total! I can promise you that you don't want to miss out on this! Be sure to check out Springfield's Facebook page for pictures and videos from this weekend's trip!
- All of our families are doing GREAT! We've had a ton of birthdays recently, and all of our families are looking forward to the holidays! As Renata says, Christmas is about the same as THON, so we can be sure she's excited for Christmas! If you would like to participate in our gift buying for our THON kids, let Laura or Ted know ASAP! I have to say, buying a gift for a THON child is WAY too much fun (and a great way to procrastinate studying)!
- As we all know from this week’s meeting, there is some exciting news regarding Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers raffle ticket sales! Our top seller gets the coveted prize of a free Springfield sweatshirt (value ~ PRICELESS), and our top ten raffle ticket sellers will get to pie the chair of their choice! I, for one, can’t wait to smother a pie in Jeff’s face for putting us in this position!
If you want the chance to be our top seller, pick up some raffle tickets at Vinay’s apartment (810 Penn Tower) or Rob’s apartment (309 Laurel Terrace – above Coldstone) before leaving for break. - Our sweatshirt design has been released! Keep an eye out for an e-mail about pricing and other cool merchandise options that we're going to offer with the sweatshirt! And everybody’s favorite shirt – the red "Coke" shirt – is going to be available again by popular demand! If you would like one of these reprints, please e-mail Hannah!
- We are going to start canning weekend three sign-ups at this Sunday's meeting! The third canning weekend is from January 22nd to the 24th, and is sure to be a great time for all involved! If you'd like to host, drive, or come canning, please e-mail Britt with your information! (If any alumnus would like to host or come canning, please e-mail Britt as well!)
- Finally, don't forget to THONvelope! Get all of your addresses to Vinay ASAP (before break is strongly preferred...it's the season of giving!). If you have ANY questions, please e-mail Vinay!
- And, since you’ve read this far, your reward is free Chipotle! On Friday, Dec. 11, the State College Chipotle will give away free food to anybody wearing a Springfield shirt! For more information, see the Facebook Event!
