First of all, on
Wednesday (100 Days Til THON) there will be Kids Mail Making in the HUB all day. Each piece of mail will be worth
one spirit point* this year and sibling mail is also encouraged. Just a reminder that mail should
not say, "Hope you are feeling better!", "How are you?" or be related in anyway to the issue of the child's health. Instead, focus on saying
how great the kids are or how excited you and they are for THON. Anything positive is great. If you write mail to OUR kids (which we highly encourage) simply
write their name and SPRINGFIELD THON on it!
Yesterday, October 8th was
Megan's birthday! We sent her a gift and a card from the team.
Xander is turning 2 on SUNDAY, so we bought him a Penn State sweatshirt and are hoping to visit soon. If you want to sen birthday cards OR see them on November 15th (next Sat!) let us know. **Since it's the same day as the Indiana game, we may consider moving this trip to a later date if enough people don't sign up.**
On the evening of November 15th, Jackie is driving to Williamsport to pick up Kenzie. If you'd like to come along for the ride, tell us! She will be staying with the girls on the 2nd floor in Simmons, if you're interested in meeting/hanging out with the coolest 18 year old EVER, let us know. We'll also be meeting in Simmons Piano Lounge at 10:30AM and then eating brunch together. November 16th is the
Family Carnival. All Four Diamonds Families are invited to come up for the day and the THON 2009 logo for the "Dream Forward" theme is shown. Hopefully this can bring about some SWEET ideas for sweatshirts =)
The Negleys will be here for Family Carnival so we highly encourage you to stop by! We are not supposed to have more than 7 people at a time at our booth (Plinko, beautifully decorated by our action team) but if you happen to be walking through the White Building from 12-2:30 on Sunday, I wouldn't blame you for checking it out =)
If you're new to our team, it's also a fabulous time to meet 2 of our 3 families AND stick your toes into THON!As you can see, there are TONS of ways to get involved with our families in the upcoming weeks. If you would like to MAKE KIDS MAIL (earn spirit points!),
send mail, VISIT the Colons, pick up Kenzie, breakfast/hang out with her, drive her home, help decorate our booth, help clean-up our booth, get involved in any other way OR have any family-related questions, PLEASE let us know at
springfieldthon@gmail.com.
Springfield LOVE always and forever,
