Hi-Ho Springfield,
First off, I would like to thank those of you who came out to the awesome THONvelope meeting on Sunday. It was a great start to our potential THONvelope successes this year, and I really appreciate everyone who has gotten addresses so far!
Keeping that in mind, if you have yet to pull addresses together for the wonderful season of THONveloping, Thanksgiving break is a great time to do so. When you are recovering from your turkey-hangover and lying on the couch because you can't eat for another couple days, you can grab your parents' address books and start copying down addresses for THONvelopes! We all know a certain Springfielder who's name rhymes with Schminay will be most excited to see a huge pile of new THONvelopes when we get back from break! If you have any questions or concerns about THONveloping, please e-mail Vinay (vinayayala@gmail.com).
I also want to thank everyone who came out for or helped out during the Family Carnival on Sunday. It was a lot of fun to be with Kenzie and the Negleys this weekend, and we are appreciative to everyone that came out to see our families!
Also, please keep in mind that we will be having a meeting on Sunday, Nov. 29 (The Sunday that everyone comes back from Thanksgiving break), and there will be another opportunity to fill out addresses on THONvelopes following the meeting!
Also, it still isn't too late to sign up for Canning Weekend #2 (Dec. 4-6)! We are still looking for more canners to take it to the streets, and also would love if anyone would be able to drive that hasn't already indicated being able to do so. Please e-mail Brittney (kern.brittney@gmail.com) for canning signups.
And, we would like to extend the opportunity to the team (especially those with a knack for art/designing) to come up with some design ideas for future Springfield merchandise. We are trying to come up with some new ideas for upcoming merch, and we would like some participation from you all to come up with the best possible ideas! If you are interested, please submit your design idea to Gabbie (gabrielle.gort@gmail.com) by Monday, Nov. 23.
Other than that, I would like to extend my hope that you all have a fantastic break, and I am looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday night (Nov. 29) at the meeting when we get back. Enjoy the week off guys, and have a great time at home with your families! As always, feel free to e-mail me with any questions/concerns.
Best,
-Jeff (Captain Jeff, King of Sparta, el presidente)

Heroic Springfielders!Thank you all for coming out to the meeting last night! There was an awful lot to digest, especially without the Powerpoint (thanks technology!), so here's a little summary of what's going on in and around THONvelope Land:
- We had an epic canning weekend total! Drumroll please...a little louder...$36,162.01 - a new single-weekend record! Thank you to all 100 of you who braved the elements to go canning (also a record, for the record), and get ready for epic canning weekend number two on December 4 - only 33 days away!
- The annual Pizza Eat-Off is coming up! Next week's meeting will be held in Simmons Dining Hall at 8:30 p.m. for the eat-off. Sign up with Claire (clairexu89@gmail.com) for a whole pizza or half pizza to compete. Dollar slices will also be available for less hungry non-competitors!
- The Family Carnival starts on Nov. 15 at noon in the White Building! There is no better opportunity to hang out with our families on campus and meet tons of other Four Diamonds families, too! If you weren’t able to sign up last night, you can still sign up for our PassList which is the only way you will be able to attend the Family Carnival. We have 80 spots for the event and if you want to sign up you can e-mail Jeff (jcs5207@gmail.com) by Thursday, Nov. 5.
- Our next social will be the Apartment Crawl on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 10 p.m. It's going to be epic - if you are interested in participating, e-mail Hannah (hmwoytowicz@gmail.com) and let her know. And definitely let her know if you can host one of the stops at your apartment!
- Please check out these two links below as well. The first one is a link to the group to sign up for the Memorial 5K for Jon Quigley and Emily Trump. This 5K is a way for us to remember and honor Em and is definitely something great to participate in. The second link is to a group for our Springfield Families with some information on what they’ve been up to.

- Obviously, I can't let a day go by without mentioning THONvelopes and our epic raffles! Don't forget, we need to populate Vinay's THONvelope Land (maybe that should be one word?) and we need to make sure that everyone we know hears about the Pittsburgh Steelers Raffle and the Penn State Football Raffle!
- And, as promised, here's last night's Powerpoint with the epic artist's rendering of THONvelope Land!
Sign up for EVERYTHING, and see you all next week!
FTK!
