Springfield Family Lovin!

Saturday, April 18th was an exciting day for many Springfielders. We visited two of our families, the Colons and the Negleys. Kenzie is coming to visit US soon for the semi-formal. Yay!!

Claire, alternative fundraising chair for THON 2010 recounted the Colon trip as follows: So last weekend was the Easter Egg Hunt Egg-stravanganza (ha) family visit at the Colon's. The eggs were full of jellybeans, and so we discovered that Xander is able to fit about 5 jellybeans in his mouth at one time. The kid's little, I don't know how he does it... anyways, Victor really liked finding his Easter eggs and playing freeze tag and monkey in the middle with everyone, and Xander had a great time getting pushed and spun around on the swings and playing "airplane." We saw some white out on the walls of the hallway upstairs, and Tito told us that he fell asleep while he was supposed to be watching Xander, and he wakes up to find Xander covered in white out and white streaks on the walls... good one Tito! We all got a pretty good laugh out of that. All in all, it was great getting to spend a day with the Colons, and hopefully we'll get to see them again soon!

Hannah, social co-chair said: What is better than a beautiful spring day? Easy, spending that beautiful spring day with the Negley family. Last Saturday a group of 10 Springfielders drove to Shippensburg to visit the Negleys. We were greeted with hugs from the entire family and didn't sit still for the next six hours. First the girls played in Renata's house where we defended the house from the evil monster AKA Jon Tidd. Then we had a delicious lunch prepared by Tim and Celeste, including BUCKEYES!!!!! They really do spoil us! Then we gave the family their gifts. Tim and Celeste loved the memory boards and the kids loved everything we got them. Then we got to shoot the POTATO GUN! We all had so much fun doing this, and Brittney FINALLY shot the potato gun after SEVEN tries! The visit ended with a serenade from Abel and then he turned Jon into a princess. Then we got hugs from the family and hit the road. Fifteen minutes after we left the kids were asleep on the couch. We couldn't have asked for a better family visit.

And a team message from the Negleys:
We wish to say a special Thank You for all birthday and end-of-treatment gifts that Renata (and Abel) received. Everyday Renata is trying out a new combination of glamor accessories. Abel even tried to paint his own fingernails (so I had to put the nail polish up :) As always, play-doh gets lots of exercise at this house and the horse and alligator floaty rings have been inflated, I think the kids even named them, Rosetta and Al, respectively. Now they are just waiting for Gram and Pap to open their pool. Thanks again for all the goodies. Lots of love,
Renata, Abel, Celeste, & Tim
P.S. Tim and I really love the Renata and Abel posters. We hung them above the kids beds.
